Migrant Shooting
Morocco’s navy yesterday fired on a boat carrying migrants that refused to respond to its orders, leaving a young woman dead and three other Moroccans wounded.
The patrol was “forced” to open fire on a speedboat driven by a Spaniard who “refused to obey” orders in waters off Morocco a spokesman said.
Four migrants were wounded, including a Moroccan woman who died of her injuries in hospital.
the Northern Observatory for Human Rights, said the woman killed was 22 years old and the three wounded were also Moroccan.
A total of 25 people were on the boat, including the people traffickers who were Spanish nationals.
Minister Accused
The justice minister faced calls to resign yesterday after audio recordings emerged of her having lunch nearly a decade ago with a retired police chief under investigation for money laundering.
In the recordings she also appears to call the openly gay Interior Minister Fernando Grande- Marlaska a “faggot”.
During a heated exchange in the Senate, Dolores Delgado said the audio recordings had been “manipulated”.

Aquarius Latest
French European Affairs Minister Nathalie Loiseau said the Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini was behaving “like Pontius Pilate,” .
She made the comments on French radio as she discussed the situation regarding the Mediterranean rescue ship Aquarius.
France, Portugal, Spain and Germany agreed yesterday to take in migrants from the rescue ship sailing off the coast of Malta, after Italy refused to let the vessel dock.

Student Death
A STUDENT has plunged to his death while allegedly practicing parkour or Free Running on a construction site in Madrid.
The 17-year-old boy fell eleven floors to his death when he attempted risky jumps and moves with friends.
Parkour participants aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment, without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible.
It includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, crawling and other movements as deemed most suitable for the situation and is usually carried out in urban spaces.
Paramedics called to the scene were unable to save the boy’s life, reporting that he died immediately on impact after the fall.

International Visit
Spain’s Prime Minister has accepted an invitation from Cuba’s president to make an official visit to the island — the first by a Spanish premier in over 30 years.
During a meeting with the Cuban president in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Pedro Sanchez accepted the invitation to visit Cuba “as soon as possible,”.
The last Spanish prime minister to visit Communist-ruled Cuba, a former Spanish colony, was Felipe Gonzalez in 1986.

Bank Robbery
A BANK employee was sprayed with petrol by robbers on the Costa del Sol who threatened to set light to her unless she handed over cash.
The incident happened at a Banco Popular branch on an industrial estate in Malaga.
The two men fled the scene in a getaway car driven by a third man waiting outside.
National Police officers are investigating.
