Majorca Flooding
At least 10 people, including two Britons, have died and a child is missing after flash flooding on Majorca.
A huge wave of muddy water engulfed the town of Sant Llorenç in the east of the island, after a river burst its banks following heavy rain.
A woman who had been in her car with her two young children also died. As the waters rose, she managed to get her eight-year-old daughter to safety, but she was unable to save her son aged five. He was still missing late yesterday.
An Aemet official said such intense conditions of torrential and localised rain occurred only every 80 years.
A bridge came down further north on the island where an ex-mayor was killed by the flooding.
Torrential rain hit other areas too, with Catalonia in the north-east and Málaga in the south among the areas badly hit.
WORLD number one tennis star Rafa Nadal opened his tennis academy in Manacor as emergency accommodation for flood victims.
And the prime minister landed in Mallorca to visit the areas affected by the floods.

Hotel Fire
A HUGE black cloud of smoke could be seen for miles after a fire broke out and destroyed a hotel in Torremolinos yesterday afternoon.
several fire appliances and a helicopter tackled the flames at the Hotel Califa I, which has stood empty for five years.
The Hotel as well as other establishments in the area, belong to the Medina Azahara complex of a Hotele chain, which reportedly went bankrupt in 2014.
Nobody was hurt.
Explosions.
TWO explosions yesterday morning are being investigated by police with early signs they could be revenge or warning attacks.
A car and the front of a house were set alight during the first explosion in Benahavis, shortly before 1am.
And minutes later, there was a blaze at an industrial estate in San Pedro, where a warehouse and up to ten vehicles were gutted.
