Murder Victim
The body found dumped on the Costa del Sol at the weekend had at least 10 gunshot wounds.
The yet unnamed man .. a 23 year old French national of Sub-Saharan origin, was left in the Guadalhorce industrial estate on Sunday.
His body was discovered by town hall employees at the back of a treatment plant, next to the motorway.
The death was immediately investigated by the murder squad of the National Police while forensics collected ten bullet casings from the scene.… Read all the news

Far Right Politics
The far-right party Vox has signed up three former generals to run for parliament in next month’s general election, two of whom have expressed support for the legacy of former dictator Francisco Franco by signing a petition last year.
The inclusion of openly pro-Franco candidates with senior military backgrounds underscores the ground that Vox has broken in a country that had largely shied away from far-right politics since General Franco’s rule ended with his death in 1975.

Gun Threat
A Man has been caught on Camera waving a gun in the face of staff at a chemist shop on the Costa del Sol in an alleged robbery attempt.
The video that has been widely circulated on social media by a Mijas Councillor was posted at the weekend and is believed to have been filmed at the Farmacia de Calypso.

Madrid Demonstration
Tens of thousands of supporters of Catalan independence rallied in Madrid on Saturday in protest at an ongoing trial of 12 separatist leaders.
Many waved Catalan flags and had placards reading “Self-determination is not a crime”.
Protest organisers said 120,000 people took part .. police put the number at just 18,000.
The rally was organised by more than 60 civil society groups from all over Spain

Children’s Bodies found near Valencia
The mother of two young children was detained by police yesterday evening after she confessed that her two children were dead and buried on scrubland near her home.
A huge police hunt launched yesterday morning found two bodies after police were called to the home of a couple after a neighbour reported a fight.
The neighbor reported hearing screams and seeing the woman run from the house, half naked with her husband chasing her.
Their children, Amiel aged three-and-a-half and his five-month old baby sister Rachel, were nowhere to be found,
More than 150 officers from different police forces, including divers, sniffer dogs and a helicopter launched a frantic search to find the two young children in Godella near Valencia.… Read all the news

Search for Children
The Guardia Civil launched a search for two young children yesterday afternoon after they were reported missing in the town of Godella in the Valencia region.
The search was launched when a neighbour called emergency services to report seeing a man with blood on him chasing after his wife.
Police patrol cars went to the property and questioned the couple – who are parents of two young children aged around four and two years old – and took them both into custody.… Read all the news

A British man has been remanded in custody on the Costa del Sol while police investigate his wife’s murder.
Geoffrey Elton, 55, is being investigated over the stabbing of Gloria Tornay at the estranged couple’s villa in Estepona
Police believe the retired businessman tried to kill himself after murdering his 58-year-old wife on Saturday.

Cocaine Shipment
Brazilian police have stopped 1.7 tons of cocaine heading to Spain by ship.

North Korean Embassy
Spanish intelligence officials have suggested the CIA was involved in a break-in at the North Korean Embassy in Madrid last month where diplomatic staff members were bound and held hostage.
Spanish Press reports yesterday said investigators have identified two of the 10 assailants who broke into the embassy and said they have connections to the CIA – a claim the intelligence agency has denied.

Opinion Poll
Support for the PSOE Socialists was seen rising ahead of the April 28 election in a poll of polls published by El Pais late yesterday though the ruling party was expected to fall well short of a majority.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s party was seen winning 27.3 percent of the vote, up since he announced the snap election on Feb. 15, while the main conservative opposition, the PP saw support drop to 20.0 percent.

Aircraft Ban
The European Union and India have banned the Boeing 737 Max from flying over their airspace to ensure passenger safety.
They join a long list of countries in suspending the plane, including the UK.
It comes after an Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed on Sunday, killing all 157 people on board. It was the second fatal accident involving the 737 Max 8 model in less than five months.
US officials say the aircraft are still safe to fly.
However, the US Association of Flight Attendants is now calling for the Federal Aviation Administration “to temporarily ground the 737 Max fleet in the US out of an abundance of caution”.… Read all the news
