Brexit
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will trigger a new raft of legal measures tomorrow destined to safeguard Spain, its traders and British residents in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
If the European Union agrees to extend the deadline for Brexit beyond March 29, Spain will not stand in its way, said Sánchez, but that he wants to know what Britain would intend to do with the extra time.
Among the battery of measures British nationals living in Spain will still be able to vote in their local council elections, due on May 26 – as will Spaniards living in the UK.
Sánchez’s new healthcare law from last July stipulates that medical attention and treatment is free of charge and universal to anyone living in Spain, legally or not.

Passenger Jailed
A 31 year old man has been jailed for 13 months after a drunken incident on a Jet2 flight from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria to Newcastle on January 10.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how father of one, Stephen McGee, was unhappy about a delay prior to take-off and told other passengers he was “getting annoyed.”
The crew refused to serve McGee alcohol prior to take-off but, once the plane was in the air, the court was told he downed three cans of beer and a small bottle of wine.
McGee threatened his wife and another passenger in an incident that cabin crew described as the ‘worst case of disorder’ they had ever seen.
The drunk dad was arrested by police when the flight landed in Newcastle.
McGee admitted being drunk on board an aircraft, behaving in a threatening, abusive or insulting manner towards cabin crew and obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

Drug Arrests
AFTER a joint investigation carried out by the National Police and Guardia Civil, two arrests have been made on the Costa del Sol for an alleged crime of drug trafficking.

The detainees, who were based in Malaga, were allegedly carrying out frequent international drug shipments through postal services from Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola and Malaga.
The parcels were being sent to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France and Italy, according to the National Police.
The two individuals, of Canadian and English nationality, were detained in Marbella and Mijas.
