Gunshots and Kidnapping
POLICE have found a body in Algeciras just hours after a shooting and possible kidnapping on the Costa del Sol last night.
The man’s body had suffered stab wounds but has not yet been identified.
The National Police are investigating to see if the two incidents are related.
Last night the sound of gunshots rang around Estepona after a diner at a restaurant was chased and shot at, before being bundled into a car by ‘hooded men’.
The events unfolded in front of many witnesses at around 10.45pm when the victim was approached at a restaurant on the Avenida de España.
It is reported the man fled down the street with the attackers chasing behind firing at him.
Witness say that the ‘hooded men’ caught up with the man where it is alleged they beat him with the butt of a gun.
A high-end BMW then appeared and he was bundled into it before it sped off.
Terrified tourists ran for their lives after the gunmen opened fire.
Witnesses reported how a panic-stricken stampede of people charged down the promenade after nine gun shots were heard.

The Kirsty Maxwell balcony death probe judge has called Spanish police involved in case to court in surprise move
Several officers, thought to include the investigator who put together the local force’s report on Kirsty’s death in April last year .. and the first police to reach the 10th-floor Benidorm apartment she plunged from, have been called to give evidence next week.
The hearing, which will take place in private, will be the first time the judge has formally questioned the officers in person.
The state prosecutor will also attend along with the lawyer acting for the five Brits who remain under investigation over Kirsty’s death.

Missing Pilot

A Saudi pilot who went missing six months ago has been found dead in Spain.
police announced that the body of Omar bin Al-Salman Al-Matiri had been found off the coast of Malaga.
Spanish authorities will conduct a post-mortem before sending the body to Saudi Arabia.
The Spanish police and border guards in Barcelona issued a statement on the 4th of April, saying Al-Matiri fell in the sea from a cruise ship.

Business

Spain’s service sector, which accounts for around half of the country’s total economic output, expanded at its slowest rate in almost five years in September.
Markit’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) of service companies stood at 52.5 in September, down slightly from 52.7 in August. The index has held above the 50 line separating growth from contraction for every month since October 2013.
