Abseiling Death
A British man has died while abseiling at a mountain on the Costa Blanca known as the ‘Sleeping Lion’.
A woman who was with the unnamed 36-year-old man was rescued by helicopter and taken to hospital with a broken left leg.
The dead Brit is understood to have lost his life after falling 80ft while abseiling at the mountain near Polop .. inland from Calpe.
It is one of the most emblematic mountains in the province of Alicante and is a popular spot for walkers as well as rock climbers.
The injured woman is believed to be a 33-year-old and the sister-in-law of the dead man.
She was taken to safety by a mountain rescue team helicopter.
A well-placed source said it’s looking like the abseil anchor broke away, either because of a fault with the equipment or because it hadn’t been attached properly to the rock-face.

Bank Reform
European Union finance ministers are set to delay a reform of money laundering supervision at banks next week because they want to assess recent alleged cases of financial crime at the bloc’s lenders.
The text .. due to be adopted on Dec. 4, backs a need “to strengthen the effectiveness of the current framework” after recent scandals, but does not propose institutional or legislative changes, like the creation of an EU-wide supervisor recommended by the European Central Bank.
The document details an action plan that is meant to be the EU response to a series of high-profile cases of alleged money laundering at banks in several EU states, including Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Spain, the Netherlands, Britain and Cyprus.

The Guardia discovered the order had been made using a system under which it is not necessary to pay for a delivery immediately on receipt. The fraudster went on to increase the value of the order to €20,000.

Elections
A new Opinion poll has suggested the December Andalucian elections could result in a hung parliament.
A stud by Sigma Dos suggested the most likely outcome of the Andalucia-wide election is a coalition between the right-leaning Partido Popular and centre-right Ciudadanos.
Sigma Dos say they would claim around 28.3 per cent of the vote
If the current President of the Junta de Andalucia, Susana Diaz of the PSOE party, wants to keep her position, pollsters say she is likely to seek to renew an agreement with Cuidadanos.
