Migration
Spain is putting pressure on Brussels to give more financial aid to Morocco to stem the flow of migrants to Europe.
The majority of north Africans who arrive in Spain are taken across the Med by trafficking gangs based in Morocco. Last month the European Union granted Morocco $275 million in aid to slow the exit of illegal migrants.
In recent weeks Morocco has repeatedly asked the EU for help, saying it had stopped 65,000 migrants from entering Europe last year. If Morocco does not receive more EU aid, Spain has said it would feel abandoned by its partners.
“The migration pressure demands a European response,” a Spanish foreign ministry spokesman said.
EU
U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has joined European security chiefs holding talks in France on fighting terrorism and controlling migration.
Elite police forces are staging an anti-terrorism exercise Today in the French city of Lyon as part of the meetings.
The officials held talks last night on immigration, despite the starkly different views between Italy’s anti-immigrant Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and others, including the French hosts who are seeking a region-wide solution to migrant arrivals.
The interior ministers of Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and Morocco are taking part. Sessions and Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Claire Grady joined today’s talks.

An Art Dealer and alleged money launderer, Matthew Green .. who’s currently wanted by the FBI, has been tracked down to the Costa Blanca according to a British national newspaper.
The paper claims it has photographed Mr Green in Javea going about his daily life and allegedly attending a rehab clinic.
Green was allegedly implicated in an FBI sting operation after he offered to buy a seven-million- euro Picasso painting on behalf of a suspected crime gang.
He subsequently fled the UK after allegedly being tipped off that the FBI were attempting to indict him.
