The Solicitor General, who represents the Spanish state in the courts, will not accuse Catalan secessionist leaders of rebellion. Instead, the written accusation due to be filed today will focus on the crimes of sedition and misuse of public funds in connection with the unauthorized referendum last october and the unilateral independence declaration that followed.
The Solicitor General’s Office has ruled out the rebellion charge against nine separatist leaders who are in pretrial detention. Fifteen young Brazilian transsexuals were threatened with black magic as they were pimped to clients in Murcia.
Spanish police said yesterday that they rescued the victims and arrested 13 people throughout the country accused of running the sex trafficking ring.

Catalan Separatism
The separatist government of Quim Torra has inaugurated ‘The Council of the Republic in exile”, an organization headed by fugitive former president Carles Puigdemont. It aims to promote the Catalan cause abroad after the failed independence declaration last year. The idea was announced last week after the two main pro-independence parties managed to overcome their differences over who will be in charge of the organization and how it should operate.

Corruption
The vice president of Spain’s football association (RFEF), Andreu Subies, has been arrested as part of a police operation that also saw former president Angel Maria Villar resign on corruption charges.
Subies, the former president of the Catalan Football Federation joined the Spanish FA in May after Luis Rubiales was appointed president.
A police spokesman said Subies had been detained as part of an active investigation into the diversion of money from the Federation.

Drugs
Spanish police have blocked the creation of one of the largest Breaking Bad-style drug labs in Europe after 16 people were arrested – including seven in Britain.
The operation saw nearly 15,000 litres of chemical products seized which officers say would have been used to make £5million worth of amphetamines and ecstasy.
Seven people in Spain and two in France have been held alongside the seven in the UK. The operation involved French police and Britain’s National Crime Agency.

Barcelona Raids
Police arrested at least 55 people in Barcelona Yesterday during a massive crackdown on apartments used for migrant and drug trafficking in the Catalonia region.
More than 700 investigating agents and 150 local police officers took part in the anti-drug trafficking operation.
Police said the operation came after a two-year investigation into the rings running the drug den apartments.
A court in Barcelona authorized 40 searches on such apartments, also known as “narco flats,” in the central Raval and Gotic neighborhoods.… Read all the news
