Healthcare
The British Embassy in Spain has reassured Brits that plans to safeguard their right to healthcare are well advanced.
The move comes after official UK government advice was published telling people to check on healthcare arrangements in each individual EU country they intend to visit after Brexit.
A report on the UK.GOV website says: “Travelers who intend to use their European Health Insurance or EHI Card must check what the arrangement is with the specific country they are visiting as the card may not be valid. This advice also applies to students studying in the EU.”
However an Embassy spokesperson in Spain clarified the statement for UK nationals living in Spain, saying: “It is a priority for the UK’s Department of Health, and for the British Embassy in Madrid, to ensure UK nationals living or working in the EU can continue to access the healthcare they need as we exit the EU.
Spain is bringing forward a law to guarantee British nationals access to healthcare under the current system in the event of a no deal – providing there’s a reciprocal agreement.

Police say the operation is ongoing.

A DOG walker in Manilva found the corpse of a suspected drug dealer on a popular beach yesterday.
It came after a high speed chase on Sunday that saw drug traffickers evade police using a powerful boat.
Customs officials later found the same rubber boat with outboards, but again the man escaped.
Police said Neither chase resulted in a collision or anyone falling from the boat.
an abandoned boat, drifting out at sea, was later towed to Algeciras.
When police were alerted by the dog walker to the corpse on the beach, they suspected it was linked to one of the boats.
A police spokesperson said the incident is ‘under investigation’.
