Drugs and Drones
HIGHLY trained drone pilots helped a drug trafficking ring smuggle more than six TONNES of hashish into southern Spain.
Two of the 12-strong gang were experts in the use of state-of-the-art drones and had been using the unmanned aircraft to check if the coasts were clear of police.
The gang, made up of Spaniards (two women and 10 men), would then unloaded the hashish from boats to the shores of Almeria, the Costa del Sol and Cadiz.

Eight high-end vehicles, two large boats and a large amount of cash were seized in the raids.
Police also found the latest generation of drones which had been used to carry out patrols along the coast.
A radar, frequency inhibitor, numerous high-tech communication devices and several state-of-the-art mobile phones were also seized.
Lucky Migrants
A tiny boat carrying 11 migrants across the Med narrowly avoided being crushed by a cargo ship with the larger vessel changing course at the last moment.
The migrants were saved after their stricken boat, which was sinking was spotted by a Guardia Civil helicopter in the Strait of Gibraltar.
Video taken from the air shows how the container ship passed perilously close to the migrants, causing waves to batter their boat in the process.
Guardia Civil boats were able to pluck the migrants to safety, before taking them to the Port of Algeciras.
