The Governments 2019 budget blueprint that has ben sent to Brussels has failed to convince the EU executive.
The plan runs the risk of missing EU budgetary targets and could force Madrid to make big adjustments in 2020 . .so the European Commission said in a draft document.
The EU executive is warning about the risk of a significant deviation from the medium-term objectives .. a set of rules to coordinate sound fiscal policies across member states. The document also expects Spain to fail to meet its public debt-reduction goals.
This verdict is an added blow to Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who has been struggling to secure parliamentary support for his budget plan.

Stolen Babies
lawmakers voted unanimously yesterday in favour of examining an “historic” bill to probe the “stolen babies” scandal that saw scores of newborns snatched from their parents during and after Francisco Franco’s dictatorship.
This is the first time that such a bill has cleared this first parliamentary hurdle, according to groups victims’ associations.
The bill has to clear several stages before it can be voted into law.
Among the measures in it is a nationwide database of all people who may have been affected.
It also wants to create a DNA bank of potential victims, and cross-check this with DNA from exhumed remains.
Scores of babies were taken from their mothers — who were told their children had died — and given to others to adopt during and after Franco’s 1939-1975 rule.
Estimates range from hundreds to tens of thousands of victims.
Body
Emergency Services have confirmed that the body of a woman has been found on a beach in Andalucia.
The emergency control center said that the corpse was found on the El Palmar beach in Vejer de la Frontera in the province of Cadiz.
The circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated by the authorities.
Benidorm
Benidorm’s famous Tiki beach bar has closed after fans were unable to stop a government-ordered shutdown.
courts ruled the bar has to stay shut following complaints from angry residents over boozy tourists and excessive noise.
The bar is on the Levante Beach and has been the subject of a string of complaints from neighbors in the Santa Margarita building over the years.
Bosses shut the bar for good on Sunday after defying a court order to close for over a month.
