Bull Running Death
A person has died at a bull running event .. a bull with flaming horns charging at a 71-year-old man and crashing into him head-on in a bullring .. he died in hospital
The bull was part of the ‘toro embolado’ tradition where flaming torches are placed on a piece of wood across its horns.
The victim has been named as Rogelio Rodrigo Rodrigo from Chulilla, near Valencia.
He was among the huge crowd of locals and tourists who lined the streets to watch the event.
The festivities were cancelled following his death.

Boys Death
AN 11-year-old boy has died after falling into a glass door while playing with his brother.
The accident happened at the family home in Valencia on Sunday afternoon.
The Spanish youngsters were reportedly left alone for just minutes when the boy was fatally wounded in the stomach by a large shard of broken glass.
His 10-year-old sibling suffered superficial injuries.
National Police sources confirmed the incident occurred when the children collided with the door.
A medical team managed to stabilise the boy who was then transferred to the La Fe de Hospital Valencia where he died later.

Gang Arrest
AN ORGANISED criminal gang who burgled pop star Shakira and her FC Barcelona husband Gerard Piqué in June has been caught and disbanded.
Detectives say the 15 suspects were behind at least another 20 break-ins across the province of Barcelona and were highly professional.
They even used public transport to get about when robbing homes, to avoid arousing suspicion.
Police say the group, all from the former Soviet State of Georgia, had €13,000 in cash and a huge haul of gold jewellery and top-of-the-range electronic devices hidden in rented properties in the Barcelona area, all of which was found and seized during extensive raids.
Organised crime investigators say the number of burglaries in the Barcelona metropolitan area has dropped significantly since the gang’s arrest.

Celebrity Death
THE actor who played the cigar-chewing Sergeant Apone in the 1986 cult film Aliens has been found dead in his villa in the Orihuela Costa area of Alicante province.
Alexander Basil Matthews – better known as Al Matthews – was found on Saturday night.
Matthews .. who was 75 was the first-ever black DJ on BBC Radio One during his years working in the UK, had lived on the Orihuela Costa since 2005.
Police said there were no external signs of violence, and they have ruled out foul play.
A Vietnam war veteran with 13 awards and medals from his service in the US Marine Corps, including two purple hearts, Matthews was the first black Marine to be promoted to Sergeant based on merit.
