Deportations
Spain deported 54,963 immigrants between 2013 and 2017, representing an average of 30 people a day, according to an Interior Ministry reply to a query by left wing party Podemos.
Moroccans and Algerians are the nationals who were most often targeted for deportation and reflects the bilateral agreements that both countries have signed with Spain to facilitate the return of undocumented migrants.
Deportations of people from sub-Saharan Africa, who make up the bulk of irregular immigration to Spain, are significantly lower due to identification difficulties and the lack of bilateral agreements.
Some EU citizens were also sent back, generally for having committed crimes against state security such as drug or arms trafficking. This list includes Romanians Portuguese French and Italians.

Shooting
A MAN was shot outside a nightclub on the Costa del Sol in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The 40-year-old was gunned down at the door of Kube in Puerto Banus at around 6am.
He is believed to be Moroccan.
He was shot in the leg before being taken to the Costa del Sol hospital and later transferred to the Clinical Hospital.
Nacional Police are investigating and The motive is still unknown.
The man is believed to be in a stable condition.

Cryogenic Preservation
Spanish authorities are investigating a company that offers cryogenic preservation for 100 years, so “patients” can wait for reanimation by technological and medical advances.
Spanish consumer protection authorities from Valencia are looking into the company Cecryon, which is the first of its type in the European Union.
Authorities seek company information outlining how it plans to meet its commitment for an entire century, and whether it has contingency plans in case of potential trouble, like bankruptcy.
The company said it will set up a fund to guarantee frozen preservation will continue even if the company runs into financial problems.

Benidorm Fire.
FOUR people were injured and two-hundred evacuated from the Poseidon Playa Hotel in Benidorm, after a 17th floor fire took place on Saturday afternoon for unknown reasons.
According to the firefighters four people were injured due to smoke inhalation.
As a precautionary measure, a full evacuation of the hotel was executed with around 200 people being vacated from the premises.
The hotel guests waited outside of the hotel until The flames were put out but the 17th floor was completely burned out.
