A Belgian court today rejected a Spanish extradition request for
rapper Valtonyc, who has been
sentenced to three-and-a-half years for allegedly praising terrorism
in his songs.

Jose Miguel Arenas Beltran — better known as “Valtonyc” — is one of
several Twitter users and
rappers who have recently been tried in Spain for glorifying terror or
for insulting the king.

Prosecutors could yet appeal the decision, but it was not immediately
clear if they would.

published a photograph on his
Twitter account showing a canal and a tourist boat typical of
northwestern Belgium.

Spain is working to include a specific chapter on Gibraltar in the
Brexit agreement. Brexit is being
viewed by Spanish authorities as a good opportunity to make progress
on long-standing claims
involving taxes, environmental issues and smuggling in the British
overseas territory.

The chief Brexit negotiator for the EU, Michel Barnier, is due to
arrive in Madrid today to meet with
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to discuss the issues. For now, however,
Spain will not bring up the
matter of sovereignty.

This is about working toward mutual benefit. We need a more balanced
relationship,” said a
government spokesman. “And in future, it is inevitable that Gibraltar
will come closer to Spain
because that means coming closer to the EU.”

road traffic incidents.

Currently, if you´re caught using your mobile phone in Spain you face
a 200 euro fine and the loss
of 3 points.
