Flood Death
A Firefighter was found dead yesterday after being swept away in floods while on duty in Andalucia.
The body of 47 year old Jose Gil Gutierrez .. a veteran firefighter from the Antequera barracks was found at around 10am.
A search for the husband and father-of-two had been carried out since dawn, after a truck in which he was traveling was hit by flood water in Campillos.
According to sources firefighters in the truck had tried to get on the roof of the vehicle .. Gutierrez lost grip and was dragged away by the current.
search teams worked throughout the night.
prime minister, Pedro Sanchez, offered ‘all solidarity’ with Malaga’s towns ‘battered by the floods’ and expressed his condolences on Twitter to the firefighter’s family.
Self Employed
THE government has signed a landmark deal to protect the rights of the self-employed.
These changes to taxation, revealed as part of the General State Budgets 2019, will link the contributions of self-employed workers to their actual incomes.
The changes are part of a government roll-out of fiscal measures to achieve a fairer society .. from next year workers with lower incomes pay a lower state contribution.
The announcement comes as the government also agree to ending so-called ‘false self employment’ before the end of this year by including a law that says workers offering their services for hire are – in monetary terms – employed by the company hiring them.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias signed the agreement this month.

Football
Lionel Messi broke his right arm on Saturday and will be sidelined for about three weeks.

since 1994, sheep farmers have paraded their livestock through the city, along a route that once cut through undeveloped countryside on their way to winter grazing pastures.
