Rain Warning
The Spanish Met Office was issued a Red Warning for the Orba area of Heavy rain possible today .. the warning is reduced to Amber from Mid Afternoon.

Environment Protest
Environment group Greenpeace said Saturday six of its activists boarded a tanker off Spain loaded with palm oil to protest against a product they claim is Dirty and Nature-damaging.
The activists were held by the captain of the ship after they boarded at sea.
Prior to that, “they unfurled banners reading ‘Save our Rainforest’ and ‘Drop Dirty Palm Oil’.
The ship was travelling from Indonesia, the world’s top palm oil producer, to Rotterdam.
The captain turned the ship around and is heading to Spain where he intends to hand the activists over to authorities .. but the Guardia Civil said it had no knowledge of the matter.
Green groups have long accused palm oil companies of rampant environmental destruction.

Drug War
The government is seeking to improve security in a notorious drug-running hotspot around Gibraltar.
The Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said on Friday that the government will spend an extra 28.5 million euros this year and next on more police and better security equipment in the Campo de Gibraltar.
The minister said unemployment in the area is running at around 25 percent. To help rid the area of crime he says the government will launch an economic regeneration program, including job creation schemes and investments in local infrastructure.

Lightning Bolt
A MARBELLA hotel burst into flames yesterday after being struck by a lightning bolt.
Hotel Playa, in Las Chapas, saw its tower ablaze yesterday morning.
There have been no reported injuries.
Meanwhile, according local media Nueva Andalucia was almost ‘cut off’ yesterday due to rising water in the tunnels connecting it to the A-7 motorway.
One driver had to be rescued after becoming stuck in the water at an underpass which was cut off due to rising water.

Earth Quake
A large earthquake has rocked Northern Spain, affecting more than two million people.
Witnesses said tremors made their homes shake as the 3.7 magnitude quake struck on at around 8 pm on Saturday Night.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said more than two million people felt the impact of the earthquake, with areas close to the border with Portugal most affected around the Vigo area.
No injuries are known to be reported.
