Bull Running Death
A person has died at a bull running event .. a bull with flaming horns charging at a 71-year-old man and crashing into him head-on in a bullring .. he died in hospital
The bull was part of the ‘toro embolado’ tradition where flaming torches are placed on a piece of wood across its horns.
The victim has been named as Rogelio Rodrigo Rodrigo from Chulilla, near Valencia.
He was among the huge crowd of locals and tourists who lined the streets to watch the event.… Read all the news

British Death

A BRITISH holidaymaker has died after falling over the edge of a steep roadside.
Reports suggest the 72-year-old man tripped and fell over the edge of a barrier and plummeted 12 -feet to waste ground below while holidaying in Menorca
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning after the man had spent a night out with a friend.
He was apparently returning to his hotel on the island’s south coast.

Catalan Protests
Thousands of Catalan pro-independence activists protested in Barcelona yesterday to mark the anniversary of demonstrations that fired up the region’s secessionist drive and brought Spain’s worst political crisis in decades.
The Protesters were demanding the release from prison of prominent separatists, among them Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart, the leaders of grassroots organizations Catalan National Assembly and Omnium Cultural. They have received preliminary sedition charges but no trial date has been set.

Trump’s Latest Wall

Spain’s foreign minister has claimed Donald Trump suggested building a wall across the Sahara to tackle Europe’s migrant crisis, Josep Borrell said the US President had insisted the type of barrier he has vowed to build along America’s border with Mexico would work for Europe as well.

Ritz Hotel

One person has died and 11 were injured after scaffolding collapsed at
the Ritz Hotel in Madrid,
yesterday afternoon where building work was underway.

The city’s emergency services said part of the sixth floor had come
down, with reports it fell down
to the first floor.

Two of the wounded were taken to hospital with serious injuries, while
the others were less badly
hurt.

All those involved were working on the renovation. At least three had
to be pulled from the rubble,

A man has been charged with murder, hours after prominent Spanish
golfer Celia Barquín was
found dead on an Iowa golf course.

Barquín, 22, won the European Ladies’ Amateur championship in July and
was a top athlete at the
Iowa State University.

Golfers at the Coldwater Golf Links in Ames discovered an unattended
golf bag on the course early
on Monday.

Barquín was found in a pond with several stab wounds to her head, neck
and upper body

Police in the city of Ames said they had determined that Barquín died

Robbery

THREE armed men robbed a bank on the Costa del Sol fleeing with
around €200,000
yesterday morning.

Police confirmed that the incident took place just after 8am at the
Bankinter branch on Ricardo Soriano in the center of Marbella.

It is believed the robbers managed to grab the cash by making a hole
in the manager’s office.

Workers say the men were armed but no one was hurt during the robbery.
